The Buick Regal is a mid-size car that was produced and marketed by the Buick part of General Motors'. The Buick Regal was introduced in 1973 and was produced for three decades till 2004. The Buick Regal was replaced by the Buick LaCrosse and was built on the A-body platform. The Buick Regal was initially introduced as a two door Coupe and the four door sedan and the four door station wagon versions were introduced later. The third generation and the fourth generation of the Buick Regal used the W-body platform and the FR layout.
The parts of the Buick Regal were initially assembled at the plant in Flint, Michigan, United States, Framingham, Massachusetts, United States and Fremont, California, United States. The initial models of the Buick Regal used the following types of engines: 231 cu in (3.8 Litre) V6 engine, 350 cu in (5.7 Litre) V8 engine, 455 cu in (7.5 Litre) V8 engine, 196 cu in (3.2 Litre) Buick V6 engine and the 307 cu in.(5 Litre) Oldsmobile V8 engine. The first generation of the Buick Regal used the three speed turbo-hydramatic automatic transmission.
