The Cadillac XLR is a Luxury Roadster that was manufactured and marketed by the Cadillac part of General Motors. The Cadillac XLR was introduced in 2004 and was produced for five years till 2009. The Cadillac XLR was available in the retractable two door convertible body style. The Cadillac XLR used the Y-body platform. The pats of the Cadillac XLR were assembled at the plant in Bowling Green, Kentucky, United States. The Cadillac XLR is related to the famous Chevrolet Corvette.
The Cadillac XLR used the FR layout; front engine model with rear wheel drive. The Cadillac XLR was powered by two different engines; either the 4.6 Litre Northstar V8 engine or the 4.4 Litre Northstar SC V8 engine was used. The only transmission that was used was the 6 speed automatic transmission. The XLR was nominated for the 'North American Car of the Year' award for 2004. The high performance ultra-luxury version of the Cadillac XLR was called the Cadillac XLR-V and was introduced in 2005.
