The Chevrolet Cavalier was a compact automobile that was introduced in 1982. Cavalier was manufactured by General Motors of which, Cavalier is a part. The Chevrolet Cavalier was built on the J platform of General Motors. The Cavalier was one of the best selling cars in the United States till 2005, the last year of production. Chevrolet used the Cavalier to replace the Monza. In the 23 years of production of the Cavalier there are three generations of Cavalier.
The first generation of the Cavalier started in 1981 when it was introduced for the 1982 model year. The noticeable parts of this model were the wheel drive, a choice of two four cylinder pushrod engines, and coupe, sedan, hatchback, and station wagon body styles. In 1985 the V6 engine was used and the design was modified. 1988 marks the beginning of the second generation and the third generation re-designed cars were introduced in 1995.
