The Chevrolet Chevette is a two or four door Sedan that was introduced in 1974. GM's worldwide T platform was used for Chevette and was sold under different name in different parts like Vauxhall Chevette, Opel Kadett, Isuzu Gemini and the Holden Gemini. Although Chevette was first introduced as a two door sedan later different variables were included like, 4 door sedan, 3 door hatchback, 2 door station wagon, and also pickup. Chevette was produced until 1994.
Chevette was a successful model from Chevrolet that was used for racing in Dirt Track Racing. In 1975, production of Chevette in the US started and was part of the cars introduced during the 1975 model year. Chevette used the 4 speed manual transmission as standard, and the 3 speed automatic transmission was optional in many parts. The earlier version of the Chevettes used a hood that wraps down to the bumper, and parts of the headlights were rounded and tri color taillights rimmed in chrome. The Chevette became a successful import fighting small car and was used by Chevrolet to replace Vega.
