The GMC Canyon is a mid-size pickup trucks introduced in 2004. General Motors used the Canyon to replace the Chevrolet S-10 and GMC Sonoma. The GMC Canyon vehicles are manufactured and produced at a GM plant in Rayong, Thailand, and in Shreveport, Louisiana. In 2010 the Canyon is expected to be redesigned and parts modified to make it more powerful.
The GMC Canyon provided the option of manual and automatic transmissions and also rear-wheel drive or four-wheel drive. The 2.8 Litre (2770 cc, 169 cu in) LK5 I4 engine was used as standard, and a more powerful 3.5 Litre (3460 cc, 211 cu in) L52 Straight-5 was optional.
