The Jaguar S-type R is a super-charged mid-size luxury or executive car that was manufactured and marketed by the Jaguar Cars part of Ford Motor Company. The Jaguar S-type R was introduced in 2003 for the 2004 model year at the Birmingham Motor Show and was manufactured till 2008. The parts of the Jaguar S-type R were assembled at the plant in Birmingham, West Midlands, England. The Jaguar S-type R was replaced by the Jaguar XF. The Jaguar S-type R used the Ford DEW98 platform.
The Jaguar S-type R used the FR layout; front engine model with rear wheel drive and optional four wheel drive. The Jaguar S-type was available in the four door saloon body-style and was sold in different parts of the World. The design and the body work of the Jaguar S-type R was inspired by the Jaguar Mark 2. The Jaguar S-type R was designed to compete with the BMW's M5 and was powered by the super-charged V8 engine that produced 400 horse-power.
