The Ford Capri was developed as a "baby Mustang" for most parts of Eurepe. The Ford Capri was a two door car with a short trunk-lid and a long hood. Capri's for the North American market were built in Cologne, Germany, and were sold through Lincoln-Mercury dealers in North America. The Capri was introduced in parts of North America in April 1970. In many places the Capri was wrongly called as Mercury Capri.
In 1973 - The Capri was given a "facelift" and the exterior and interior was modified. Parts like the grille, tail lights, wiring harness and bumper was changed. 1975 - The Capri was restyled as a hatchback and was sold for the 1976 model year.
